The short answer
Choose the company that explains what it will do on your site and why, follows Google's guidelines, measures your visibility in numbers on Google and AI answers, and shows real past results. Avoid anyone who guarantees you first place or a mention in ChatGPT, sells you links, or promises a magic file: Google says no one can guarantee first place, and that appearing in its AI answers needs no special files.
Business owners ask this in many ways: “who is the best SEO and AEO company in the Gulf?” and “I want a company that gets my name into ChatGPT answers.” The names change from engine to engine, but the selection criteria stay the same. This guide collects them from Google's guidelines and the AI engines' own documentation, without naming any company.
What does an SEO, AEO and GEO company do?
It works to make people find you in search results and in the answers AI writes. Google lists what an SEO can offer: reviewing your site's content and structure, technical advice such as hosting, redirects and error pages, content development, managing campaigns, keyword research, training, expertise in specific markets and regions, and optimising for generative AI.
In other words, appearing in AI answers extends the same search work rather than replacing it. We explain the difference between the three terms in a separate article.
What should you ask before you sign?
Ask these eight questions; the first six come from Google's own list for anyone choosing an SEO:
- Can I see past work and results? Ask for real, dated examples, not general promises.
- Do you follow Google Search Essentials? The answer should be yes, without hesitation.
- What results do you expect, over what timeframe, and how do you measure them? Ask for specific indicators and a regular report.
- What is your experience in my industry, country and language? In our region that means Arabic content, questions asked in dialect, and the markets you work in.
- Will you explain every change you make and why? Google warns against a company that is secretive or won't clearly explain what it intends to do.
- Are you interested in my business, my competitors and my customers? A serious company asks about your business before it quotes a price.
- Can ChatGPT and Perplexity read my site today? OpenAI says a site needs to allow its OAI-SearchBot crawler to appear in ChatGPT search results, and Perplexity recommends allowing PerplexityBot in robots.txt.
- Where will mentions of my name outside my site come from? Ask for real sources such as directories, trade press and your official profiles, not bought links.
What are the warning signs?
If you hear one of these promises, ask for an explanation or look elsewhere:
| The promise | Why it is a problem |
|---|---|
| “We guarantee you first place on Google” | Google says plainly that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking. |
| “We guarantee ChatGPT will mention you” | No one controls what an AI model answers. Even Google says indexing and serving in its AI features are not guaranteed, even when requirements are met. |
| “We have a special relationship with Google” | Google warns about this claim and about offers of “priority submit” to Google. |
| “We'll add hundreds of links to your site” | Google treats creating links to manipulate rankings as a violation of its spam policies. |
| “We'll publish thousands of AI pages for you” | Generating many pages to manipulate rankings without value for readers is a violation Google calls scaled content abuse. |
| “One file will make you appear in AI answers” | Google says appearing in AI Overviews and AI Mode needs no special files and no special markup. |
Do you need llms.txt or AI-specific structured data?
Not to appear in Google's features. Google says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode, and no need for new files, special markup or AI-specific structured data. What is required is that the page is indexed and eligible to show with a snippet in Search, and that structured data matches the visible text.
An llms.txt file can serve as a tidy guide to your site, but Google does not require it. If an offer is built entirely around it, ask what else they will do.
How do you compare two offers?
Compare what is delivered and what is measured, not the number of keywords in the proposal:
| Item | Weak offer | Strong offer |
|---|---|---|
| Measurement | Rankings for a few keywords on Google | Your share of a rotating question sample on Google, Bing and AI answers, monthly |
| Content | Generic articles with repeated keywords | Pages that answer your customers' real questions in their own wording and dialects, with sources and dates |
| Technical | Not mentioned | Crawlability for search engines and AI crawlers, structured data and speed |
| Off-site | A link package | Real presence in directories, trade press and official profiles |
| Transparency | “Our method is secret” | Every change explained, and a report you can check yourself |
What does “best in the Middle East” mean in practice?
It means the company understands how your customers ask in Arabic: the same question is written in Modern Standard Arabic, in Gulf, Levantine and Egyptian dialects, and in English, and the engines match meaning, not words. It means experience in the markets you serve, and presence in the Arabic sources the engines rely on. Google lists experience in your country and region among the things to ask about before you sign.
The standard: this is how we work at Injaz AI by Injaz Digital. We apply what we offer to our own site first. We don't guarantee any model's answer, but we measure your visibility every month over a rotating question sample on six engines, and explain every change and why.
FAQ
Can a company guarantee I'll appear in ChatGPT?
No. No one controls an AI model's answer, and Google says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking in its results. What can be guaranteed is clear work and regular measurement in numbers.
Do I need one company for SEO and another for GEO?
No. Appearing in AI answers rests on the same foundation as search, and Google lists optimising for generative AI among the things an SEO offers.
How do I know if my site appears in AI Overviews?
Google says traffic from AI Overviews and AI Mode appears in the Search Console Performance report under the “Web” search type. For ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini you need a question sample tested regularly.
What should I check first before signing?
Check whether your site's robots.txt lets search engines and AI crawlers read it, then ask the company for dated past results and its measurement method.
